Decisions in the handwork
One of the things I love most about working with walnut is that it rarely needs embellishment. The grain, color variation, and natural edge already tell a story. My role is simply to reveal what is already there and shape it into something useful.
No two live edge boards are ever identical. Every piece of walnut has its own grain patterns, curves, and character marks, making each board truly one of a kind. When a customer adds a name, date, initials, or logo, the board becomes even more personal: a functional piece that carries meaning long after the occasion has passed.
Some of my favorite projects are gifts. Knowing a board will be part of a wedding, anniversary, housewarming, or family gathering adds a special purpose to the work.
